Most Power yoga is derived from Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga, the difference being that in Power yoga, there is no set series of asanas (poses) you must follow. 

In true Ashtanga Vinyasa, the series of asanas you perform is always the same.  

If you get the chance, I highly recommend the Ashtanga dvd&#039;s by either Melanie Fawer or David Swenson.
